Geberit goes On TourLast year’s tour saw the team clock up over 1200 miles and stop off at more than 30 Geberit Mapress stockists nationwide. This year we’ll be taking to the road again, visiting Geberit Mapress stockists nationwide to give demonstrations about this labour-saving system and to give installers an invaluable chance to try it out for themselves.
Experts from Geberit will be on hand at every demonstration to answer questions and offer advice about this unique system. There will be incentives on tooling for any installers ready to make the switch to Geberit Mapress.
During the tour installers will have the chance to apply to take part in the Geberit Challenge 2012, an opportunity to prove themselves as the ‘fastest fitter in the land’. Taking place in November in London, Glasgow and Manchester, the winning team will receive an all-expenses paid holiday in luxury accommodation. Further details of the Geberit challenge are available at www.geberit.co.uk/challenge.
Geberit On Tour takes to the road in May and continues into the summer. To find your nearest On Tour event visit www.geberit.co.uk/ontour
Case Study: Geberit Specified for Belfast’s Tallest BuildingBlackbourne Mechanical specified Geberit’s HDPE piping because of its easy installation and because its superior environmental and acoustic properties make it ideal for tall buildings.
Also specified was the Geberit Sovent soil and waste drainage system. The Geberit Sovent single-stack drainage system is designed specifically for use in high-rise buildings as it eliminates the need for a separate vent stack and reduces the diameter of the stacks. The specifically designed branch inlet fitting also reduces the pneumatic pressure fluctuations in stacks, preventing the syphonage of traps.
This is the first UK-based sepcification of Geberit Sovent fittings, which allow the use of smaller diameter soil stack pipes and offet self syphonage from the floats – a particular requirement from the contractor.
Geberit also supplied more than 330 dual flush Duofix W/C frames enabling the bathrooms to be fitted with wall-hung sanitaryware for that all-important on-trend minimal look. The dual-flush cisterns also ensure water comsumption per tenant is minimised. Giles Hill, Mechanical Director at Blackbourne Mechanical, said: "Installing services to the tallest high-rise building in Northern Ireland created its own difficulties, so the selection of suitable materials was crucial to its success. The Geberit products we specified more than lived up to our expectations."

Geberit at KBB 2012
The hero of the show was undoubtedly the Sigma80, which won universal praise from stand visitors. The deputy editor of Kitchen and Bathroom News was so taken with the design that she took a picture and tweeted it from the stand – you can’t get much more enthusiastic than that!Plus our very own Marketing and Communications Manager, Sara Johnston, was even filmed talking to Sky TV channel, SelfBuildTV, through the products for an hour long special program on innovations in the bathroom industry
Retailers who visited were also very interested in Geberit DuoFresh, and believing it will be a great talking point to visitors of their showrooms and another wall-hung benefit to sell them. A walk-through the product from our area sales managers and a quick demonstration of how simple and effective it is to use and install had visitors bussing about this truly innovative addition to the Geberit portfolio. Read in full why Sigma80 and DuoFresh are making waves later on in this newsletter. For more information about the new products launched at KBB, click here
