The phrase “Best of British” is used in many situations – fashion, food, lifestyle, towns… But how often is it used to describe a bathroom furniture manufacturer? Not often enough, in our opinion! So, we’re going to suggest that Carron Bathrooms could be a contender for this title.
Carron Baths are a bath manufacturer based on the banks of the River Carron in Scotland. Few can boast of a heritage dating back to the mid-1700’s, but Carron can. And their experience shines through with the style and quality of their baths.
With a series of different bath styles ranging from the more traditional “standard” bath, through shower baths and ending with their flagship freestanding baths, Carron have a range that can truly impress even the most demanding of customer.
Carron have also gone a little further, and patented their own method bath construction. Their “Carronite®” process means Carron can create an exceptionally strong bathtub which maintains heat longer than their competitors.
Carron also include a range of matching bath panels and bath shower screens. This guarantees the best function & style available by ensuring all their products are designed to work together perfectly.
At First Bathrooms, we’re proud to serve as stockists for Carron Baths. From our distribution centre, we’re able to provide our range of Carron baths with next working day delivery to UK mainland addresses. Simply place your order before 2pm weekdays and you could be enjoying the most relaxing long, hot soak as soon as tomorrow night!
Corner baths are an increasingly popular style of bathtub. Rather than a more familiar rectangular shape to the tub, corner bathtubs are more oval in shape, and their design is ideal in bathrooms where you might have more freedom to be slightly more daring in your style approach.

Many consumers are now choosing corner baths when they buy a new bathroom suite, and the consensus seems to be the idea of choosing a bath which is a little “different” than usual.
Measuring a Corner Bath
The width and length of a corner bath refer to the sides which will be in contact with the walls of your bathroom. Most models include detailed diagrams to help with choosing the correct size for your bathroom.

Some corner baths are of a slightly offset design. That is, one side is slightly longer than the other. This gives the bath an even more interesting appearance, and is also useful in bathrooms which may lack the space for a typical corner bath.
Whilst many of us take the option of choosing between a bath tub or a shower cubicle in their bathroom, sadly this can lead to disappointment when a sudden yearning for a change ends in disappointment and a sad sigh. So, a simple compromise it to install a shower bath in your bathroom.
Although, on the surface, a shower bath appears to be a bathtub with a shower attachment or shower head installed near the taps, a standard bath tub isn’t usually designed with the intention of us standing at one end.
Shower baths are often shaped with a broader width near the waste pipe to offer more freedom of movement (and shop us banging our kneecaps first thing in the morning…). Occasionally, a textured surface is included in the design to prevent customers slipping whilst taking a shower.
One sporadic concern raised by customers is the risk of a “standard” shower screen being unsuitable for the curved shape of some shower bath designs. That worry is eliminated by shower screens designed to match the contours of the bath precisely, or a folding shower screen that can be purchased separately.
Shower bath sizes at First Bathrooms range from 1500mm to 1700mm in length, and many are available in both left-hand and right-hand versions (see images).
