Bathroom taps

Bathroom taps are essential in creating the right look for your bathroom, regardless of how nice the rest of your bathroom is, it is the taps that will get noticed first. Remember though that while it is important for the bathroom taps to be stunning and chic, they are the most functional part of your bathrooms, after all they deliver water to your bath and basin.

Taps can come in a wide variety of styles and materials, the main material being brass (taps are called brassware in the industry) which is then coated with a finish such as chrome or plated with gold. A common mistake when buying taps is to choose a style which is too large or too small for your bathroom, pay attention to how tall a tap is and what it's range of movement is.

Whether you buy designer taps or cheap taps you will see they all use the same mechanical principles. In the UK all taps must have a double check valve, this prevents contaminets leeching back into the water system via the tap.
