Frequently Asked Questions
Question:
Which type of radiator valves do I require for my heated towel rail?
Answer:
The type of valves you need depends on the location of the pipes connecting to the radiator. If the pipe work comes out of the floor you will require a pair of straight valves. If the pipework comes out of the wall then you will need a pair of angled valves.
Question:
How do I install my heated towel rail to my central heating system?
Answer:
Heated towel rails are fitting by using brackets to connect to the wall and radiator valves. The four brackets supplied with all our towel rails are used to fix the radiator onto the wall. The two entry points at the bottom of the heated towel rail are used to connect the radiator to the pipe work. The third entry point on the top is inserted with a small nut commonly known as an "air vent" or "bleed valve" The purpose of the air vent or bleed valve is to let trapped air out of the radiator. Like the fixing brackets all our of rails come complete with bleed valves.
Question:
I am in a rush for my heated towel rail, how quickly can you deliver?
Answer:
Both Aquaheat and Heatwise towel rails are in stock at our main warehouse. Standard delivery is within 5 working days but for only a small surcharge if you order before 2pm you can chose the option for next working day delivery.
Question:
Can I replace my ordinary radiator with a towel radiator
Answer:
Yes it is possible to replace your conventional radiator with a heated towel radiator as they both work the same. Hot water enters one side of the heated towel rail or radiator from one side, travels through it and exits from the other side.
Question:
What is a BTU?
Answer:
BTU is an abbreviation for British Thermal Unit, which is the British standard unit of energy. BTU is the heating measure which determines the heat output from the heated towel rail.
Question:
What is the distance between the wall and the heated towel rail?
Answer:
The distance between the wall and the heated towel rail for both Heatwise and Aquaheat products is 60-90mm. The brackets used to fix the heated towel rail adjust to give you the option of how far off the wall you want you towel rail
